Tony Lugg

Transported Asset Protection Association Asia Pacific (TAPA APAC)

Mr. Tony Lugg brings decades of experience in strategic roles across global businesses, including his tenure as Director of Logistics Purchasing and Centre of Excellence for Lear Corporation Asia Pacific, a leading Tier 1 automotive manufacturer. His expertise spans Supply Chain Management, Security, Law Enforcement, General Management, Electronic Security, Aviation Security, Telematics, and Global Account Management. Tony has been actively involved in Aviation Security as a member of the Conference of Asia Pacific Express Carriers (CAPEC) Security Committee and has successfully navigated audits for the US C-TPAT Programme, AEO, and the Aviation Security Regulated Agent Programme globally. His achievements include winning the Supply Chain Security Award at the Supply Chain Asia Logistics Awards in 2009 and the Risk Management Award in 2010. Tony currently serves as Chairperson of the Transported Asset Protection Association Asia Pacific (TAPA APAC). He is also affiliated with the Supply Chain Asia, American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS International), Asia Professional Security Association (APSA), and the International Aviation Security Association (IASA). Tony holds a Post Graduate Award in Management & Business Studies from the University of Warwick and has qualifications in Security Management, Aviation Security, Electronic Security, and Electrical Installation.

Carol Chia

DRI Malaysia

Carol has been managing various roles in DRI Malaysia and DRI GCC mainly on creating and enhancing awareness and best practices on Business Resilience throughout the industries, both private and public sectors in Malaysia, UAE, Saudi Arabia to name a few.  Based in Netherlands since 2017, she is currently involved with various projects on business resilience especially supply chain BCP. 

Chris Chan

ASIS Malaysia

Chris Chan, CPP, PSP is a security and resilience leader with over 12 years of experience leading corporate security, crisis management, investigations, supply chain security, travel security, and risk management programs across the Asia Pacific region. He has successfully developed and implemented security strategies that protect people, assets, operations, and brand reputation while enabling business growth for global organizations including Starbucks, Mars, and Elanco. Recognized for building strong stakeholder partnerships and driving security as a business enabler, Chris also serves as Chairman of the ASIS International Malaysia Chapter, where he is committed to advancing the security profession and developing the next generation of security leaders.  

Alvin Lau

Transported Asset Protection Association Asia Pacific (TAPA APAC)

Mr. Alvin Lau leads the association’s efforts to address the needs of Chinese members and implement effective local initiatives as his role of Executive Director of Greater China at TAPA APAC. He spearheads the activities supporting members, raising awareness of TAPA Standards, engaging with authorities and customs for co-recognition, and expanding the membership base across China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. With a double major in Bachelor of Commerce in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management, Alvin has over 20 years of experience in the Supply Chain industry. His diverse background includes roles in Aviation, Construction & Engineering, Oil & Gas, Marine, FMCG, and Life Science & Healthcare sectors, underscoring his extensive expertise in managing complex supply chain operations and fostering industry growth.

Sylvester Leong

Industry Representative

Sylvester Leong has extensive experience in the security and training sectors, having served as a Senior Assessor at Polwel Cooperatives Society Ltd since 2014, where he conduct security assessments for various training organizations. His role includes evaluating core and advanced training modules for security personnel, as well as performing security audits during the Security Agencies Grading Exercise from 2015 to 2017 and conducting inspections related to safe distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Prior to this, he worked as a Security Trainer at Leacov Training Centre, providing on-site training for security officers. His career also includes a position as an Executive in the SMRT Taxi Affairs Department, where he managed taxi driver welfare issues, and as Head of Operations at Dragnet Private Investigations and Security Consultant Pte Ltd, overseeing security operations.

He served as Operations Admin Manager at Securitas Security Services Pte Ltd, managing the administration of security operations for approximately 600 personnel across 88 sites. Earlier in his career, they were a Real Estate Manager at Orange Tee Real Estate Agency, providing property sales and services, and a Financial Services Consultant at AIA Singapore, where he achieved notable sales qualifications. His foundational experience includes working as an Employer Services Officer at the Central Provident Fund Board, investigating employer defaults on CPF contributions, and serving as a Police Constable in the Singapore Police Force.

In addition to his professional roles, they have been actively involved in volunteer services, including serving as a BB Officer with the Boys Brigade Singapore and as a Volunteer Adult Leader under the Ministry of Education. He is currently pursuing a Specialist Diploma in Security Consultancy at Temasek Polytechnic and is a committee member of the Asia Pacific Security Association’s Singapore chapter, as well as a life member of the Singapore Police Retiree Association.

Sheila Ponnosamy

Sheila learnt investigations tradecraft under her father’s mentorship – Major (retd) Ponno Kalastree when she joined Mainguard in 1997.   The 50 years old business has since expanded to asset tracing and digital investigations throughout Asia Pacific (www.mainguard-intl.com.sg).

She was awarded Investigator of the Year Award 2010 by the Council of International Investigators (CII) for locating a trafficked woman missing for 10 years across international borders.  She was elected President of CII (2014-2015) and received the Meritorious Service award (2014). 

An active learner, Sheila contributes articles to industry newsletters and presented at conferences. 

Outside her professional life, Sheila runs a mission in Myanmar for the disadvantaged.

Dr David Sothie Naysadorai

Saito University College Malaysia

Dr David is presently a Senior Lecturer in Saito Law Enforcement and Public Sector Management (FLAME), of Saito University College Malaysia.

He graduated with Doctor of Business Administration from Asia e University with research in Policy Governance of Professionalizing the Private Security Guarding Industry in Malaysia.

With just over 10 years of Academic experience in Saito University College, a Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) TIER 1 Quality Assurance Officer, and seasoned MQA Programme Accreditation Assessor for Security and Law Enforcement programmes, he comes with previous Industrial experience with just over 20 years from the Private Security Industry.

Dr David presently lectures students undertaking the Bachelor of Arts in Law Enforcement (Investigation)(Hons) programme.

Dr David encourages Bachelors, Masters and PhD students to cross-discipline their areas of research in Social Science, bringing new knowledge to the forefront of Industry, Government, Regional and the Academic World, without compromise on quality.

Dr Nurmahfuzah Razak

Dr Nurmahfuzah Razak is a social science scholar with experience in sociology, social justice, and community development. Her work focuses on marginalised groups, youth issues, and community resilience, offering insights relevant to crime prevention and security. She actively combines academic research with social initiatives to foster safer and more inclusive societies. 

Clifford Seow

DRI Malaysia

Clifford is a highly experienced operational resilience leader with 38 years of experience spanning commercial, technical, and resilience-focused roles.  For the past 13 years, he has led Business Resiliency Management for a multinational organization, overseeing operations across Asia and supporting the Pacific region.  His expertise extends to a deep understanding of global Operational Resilience regulations, and he regularly works across the spectrum of risk, crisis, and continuity management.

A recognized expert in his field, Clifford holds a Master’s certification from the Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII), where he is also a lead certification trainer.  He further contributes to the development of industry best practices as a member of the ISO Standards Technical Committee on ISO22301 at the national standards body in Singapore.

Prior to his current role, Clifford led roles in consulting, auditing, and practicing Crisis Management and Business Continuity Management.  His extensive career includes experience with prominent multinational corporations such as Coca-Cola, Cadbury Schweppes, Pepsi-Cola, and Texas Instruments, where he held various commercial and technical positions.

Clifford’s commitment to professional development and community engagement is reflected in his past affiliations with organizations such as the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce, the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Singapore Institute of Directors over the years.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Clifford is passionate about operational resilience training and web programming.  His background includes service as a physical training instructor and combat medical personnel in the military, fostering a continued interest in health and fitness. He is fluent in English, Malay, and various Chinese dialects.

Chandra Wirapati 

Indonesian Security System Industry Association (AISKINDO)

Chandra Wirapati is a security professional with 30 years of experience in security consulting, security operations, physical security design, security management, and security master planning. He is the Director and Co-Founder of PT Wiragarda Wahana Waspada, an Indonesian security company established in 1996. 

Throughout his career, Chandra has led and contributed to security projects of significant scale and complexity across Indonesia. His portfolio includes security design for international five-star hotel chains, luxury resorts and residential developments, including some of Indonesia’s most prestigious properties, as well as two of the country’s tallest buildings. He has also been extensively involved in physical security planning and design for data centres and other critical facilities.

His experience extends to large-scale developments, serving as security advisor for more than five integrated estates, several covering approximately 500 hectares or more. His work includes security master planning, threat and risk assessment, security strategy, operational planning, and system design. He has also served as security advisor to Bank Indonesia and worked in collaboration with Indonesia’s National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT).

Chandra has supported security planning and operations for major international events, including FIFA-related events, G20 meetings, ASEAN and other international summits.

He is also active in professional education through GMT Institute, Bank Indonesia Institute, and other professional and law-enforcement forums, and has lectured with the Counter Terrorist Board in Singapore.

His certifications and specialist training cover counter-terrorism, anti-terrorism, counter-surveillance, open-source intelligence, bomb threat and explosive security, football event security, physical security design, fire and life safety, and data centre professional practice.

Khaidzer Kedah 

Persatuan Industri Keselamatan Malaysia (PIKM)

Khaidzer Kedah is the Managing Director of Kawal Wiramas Sdn. Bhd. since 2020. He joined the company since 1990 as an ordinary officer. He was appointed as a member of the company’s Board of Directors in 1994. With over 30 years of experience, he has brought the company to a more competitive level.

Kawal Wiramas, which was established in 1981 and until now has 1500 employees with 23 branch offices throughout Malaysia which makes this company one of the top ten companies in Malaysia.

Khaidzer is one of the PIKM committee members who have been elected since 2023. Before that, he was the zone chairman for PIKM Negeri Sembilan.

In the CSR field, he is the chairman of Madrasah Tahfiz Yamin which is a private religious school that has been run together with family members. With 80 students and staff, this effort is a charitable contribution to the community.

Khaidzer is a graduate of University Technology MARA with a Diploma in Business Management. He also graduated from Bowling Green State University, Ohio with a Degree in International Business.

Saliza Abdullah is the Managing Director and an accomplished second-generation entrepreneur of BG Capital Holdings Group of Companies (BGCH), a 100% women-owned, integrated one-stop security and safety solutions provider advocating sustainability and impact.

With more than 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur, Saliza has transformed her family business from a single company into a group of companies, celebrating their 30^th anniversary on 24 January 2022. Saliza is also Founder of BGCH For The Community and author of an entrepreneurship book “Growing A Sustainable Family Business. Our First 30 Years. Values & Strategies for Entrepreneurs & SMEs.”

BGCH is the first Malaysian SME to receive The UN Women Asia-Pacific Women Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Award 2020 for the category of industry and community engagement. BGCH also received “Subang Jaya Gemilang Bersama Award 2021” from The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ), acknowledging the company’s social contribution to the local community.

Saliza holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University (USA) and Master of Business Administration from Multimedia University, Cyberjaya with industrial training at Université de la Rochelle (France).
